MATC Board Addressed About Wage Stagnation

Local 212 President, Lisa Conley appeared before the MATC Board once again on March 26 to address the findings of a recent Local 212 open records request. From the data we requested, we were able to determine that wage increases outside of Cost of Living Adjustments or COLA have all but ceased at MATC since 2020. Why? Two things have occured since that time. One is the approval of a new compensation structure (that has yet to be finalized or fully implemented by the college) and two is the end of step increments. The result has been the lack of any real raises in the last four years. We believe this is unacceptable, the college can do better, and they have the means to do so!

This is another poignant reminder of the importance of union representation at MATC. The fight to improve wage progression at MATC will take time and effort, but without Local 212 the fight would not have begun.
