Emergency Support, with a Human Touch: An Interview with FAST Fund Director Elizabeth Franczyk

The AFT sat down with FAST Fund director, Elizabeth Franczyk recently to discuss to learn how the fund meets students’ needs and how more AFT unions can start their own FAST Funds. The FAST Fund was started by Local 212 members in 2017 and has grown from initially assisting 26 students with about $7000 worth of funds to helping students in July and August of 2023 with $105,000 in aid.
