Local 212’s President & VP for Paraprofessionals Speak at District Board Meeting

VP of Paraprofessionals Lynnett Harvey (remarks begin at 1:00) and Local 212 President Lisa Conley (remarks can be read HERE or viewed at 10:45) confronted the MATC Board last Tuesday to share their own experience navigating MATC's opaque compensation structure, and how that structure is viewed by members--along with the disparities between the work being done and the compensation being provided.

Examples to the board include one Pathway Advisor who has been the sole advisor for 1100 students for the last four months. Staffing situations like these cannot be allowed to continue, and if they do, these workers should be compensated fairly.
