Stop AZCN Advocacy Update: Big Win!

The people of Milwaukee scored a big win when the Milwaukee City Plan Commission voted to “file” the special zoning request submitted by developers for the Arizona College of Nursing (AZCN)--a for-profit college with a questionable track record. Among the outcry against the development application were testimonies from Local 212 President Lisa Conley, former 212 leaders and retiree chapter members Michael Rosen and Charlie Dee, along with FAST Fund team member/MATC student, Elsa Marks.

The CPC’s decision is receiving solid media coverage, including the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, WUWM, and others

We expect that AZCN will challenge the CPC decision. If you support the cause, feel free to circulate the ‘Stop AZCN’ petition* (always using non-work resources of course!). Growing community support will be crucial moving forward.

[Note: The petition manager, the Wisconsin Federation of Nursing & Healthcare Professionals (WFNHP), is a statewide union and fellow AFT affiliate.]
