Local 212 New Employee Luncheon

Local 212 hosted a new employee luncheon last week Friday, August 9. The event was attended by nine new full time faculty--four of which were previously part time faculty at the college.

We were happy to see so many part time faculty moving into full time positions. We have and will continue our work advocating for the replacement of full time faculty and other frontline employees who have retired, so that the work of departments and programs can get done and students can best be served. A clear path for part time employees to advance into full time positions has long been one of our part time advocacy goals.

The event was hosted by Local 212 President Lisa Conley, Office Manager Nicole Tudury and Alan Chavoya who has been working tirelessly this summer with VP of Membership Bev Johnson to recruit nonmembers.

Please speak with new hires in your area about Local 212 and encourage them to join. Direct anyone who has questions or expresses interest in joining to contact aftlocal212office@gmail.com for more information.
