PT Faculty Pi Day Rally
Nearly fifty braved the rain and wind Thursday, March 14 (Pi Day) to come support part time faculty. We would like to extend thanks to all who made it out to rally despite the weather. And acknowledge those that had work obligations that prevented them from joining. That includes PT Faculty who worked Thursday without any extra pay.
As a reminder we were rallying, and will continue to fight for administration to address our concerns:
Fair pay, relative to full-time instructors’ and industry standards
Class-assignment security
Compensation for last-minute assignment cancellations
Fair and transparent class-assignment processes
Easier access to healthcare and the Wisconsin Retirement System
Pay for onboarding, meetings and training
No pay reduction for summer classes
Clear paths to full-time opportunities
We are proud of the planning that was done by the PT Faculty leaders and the PT Faculty Council who put the work in to make this event a success. We still have a long way to go, but are happy to see a small recognition of our concerns. Thanks again to all for your support! We are stronger together!
