BIG WIN FOR PT FACULTY!
As seen in March 11’s The Week Ahead, Part Time Faculty received a big win! PT Faculty will now be able to submit 4 hours for professional development if they attend MATC DAY.
This change did not come about without Local 212's continued advocacy and is an excellent example of the power of unions, and what can happen at MATC when people speak up and administration listens. We still believe there is more needed for PT Faculty to close the gap of inequity they face, but this is a step in the right direction.

Part-time faculty with a Spring 2024 section are invited to participate as their schedule permits and may use up to four (4) professional development hours to receive pay for attendance on March 13.
Alternatively, part-time, post-probationary faculty may attend MATC Day uncompensated and choose to submit applicable hours toward their FQAS Renewal cycle in SumTotal in accordance with FQAS guidelines.
