Local 212 Deputy Vice President of Part Time Faculty Hughes "Crash" Crawford
Crash fell in love with live music at a young age, attending symphony concerts with his mother, as well as local underground basement punk shows in and around Michigan’s capitol area. He began doing professional audio, working his way up in an Ann Arbor, Michigan Live Audio company. Through that company's relationships with the colleges and universities in the area, as well as other municipalities, venues, producers and promoters in greater Detroit, Crash was exposed to the full spectrum of American musical possibilities.
In 2012 Crash moved to Milwaukee’s Eastside where he lives with his spouse, child and two rescue cats. He started teaching at MATC in 2021. In 2022 Crash began serving as the Local 212 Deputy Vice-President of Part-time Faculty.
He has spent 20+ years in the entertainment industry where he has played many roles, worked in many capacities, for all sorts of “bosses,” but it is collaborating with the skilled professionals in his industry that he finds the most satisfying. Crash has worked alongside the trades for years and has ALWAYS been PRO-UNION. He is THRILLED to serve in Local 212, working to maintain the DIGNITY and STANDARDS of the profession. He is still new to teaching, but loves to keep learning and sharing what he knows.
