Local 212 Executive Retreat and Member Survey Results

[212 President Lisa Conley addresses 212 leaders at the Executive Board Retreat]

The Local 212 Executive Board held its fall retreat on Saturday, August 26. In addition to team building and training, a primary focus was to review and discuss data from the recent “Issues and Concerns” survey, along with using this data to formulate our union’s organizing plan for the year. More details will be available after bargaining unit leaders meet with their councils, members who responded (and did not wish to be anonymous) can be contacted for their cooperation, and the 212 Board can finalize their response. For now we can provide a brief overview:

  • Approximately 150 members completed the survey

  • Over 20 pages of comments were received

  • By far, the most concerns were related to four themes:

    • Shared Governance/ Voice at work

    • Compensation; structures & pay for work performed

    • Administrative accountability

    • HR-related issues

    • Staffing; both the lack of and process to add staff

Thank you all for participating! Your voices were heard loud and clear, and will be amplified! Stay tuned for more data-sharing, and opportunities for you to participate in related organizing in the future!
