Local 212 Literacy Project Update

[MATC students: Drew, Max, Evan, Jasmine, Naomi, Mariah]

Five little free libraries were built, painted, and decorated by MATC Carpentry and Art students in Fall 2024, and these have now been installed and stocked with AFT Reading Opens the World grant-funded children's books. Here are some photos of the student artists and craftspeople, as well as the finished products. The libraries are located at the Children's Centers at each campus and the Little Stormer's Village. Help spread the word! Any parents who are part of the MATC community, including members, should feel free to take a book, trade a book, or borrow a book!

Through projects like these we hope to show how Local 212 contributes to our students and the communities we serve. Local 212 + MATC. Better Together!
