Chaos, Stress and Calls for Help

From seniority list errors, to unilateral load and other pay inconsistencies or adjustments, to violations of faculty-based curriculum control and the devaluation of faculty expertise in program/department/pathway decision-making, Local 212 has been busy fielding calls for assistance from concerned and stressed* members (as well as non-members**). In turn we have been investigating and responding to a number of troubling issues and developments caused by administrators' actions or inaction. For many, these issues are exacerbated by the uncertainty gripping the country from directives out of Washington.

While some MATC-based issues have been successfully resolved via individual case advocacy (or are en route to such), others may need stronger, collective full-time faculty action. The latter will be coordinated by the Local 212 Full-time Faculty Organizing Council. Thank you to those who have stepped up to serve on this organizing team.
