Climate Change Is A Social Issue

[From Jsonline]

In Wisconsin, climate change means heavy rainstorms could become more frequent and the ice cover on the Great Lakes is also forming later or melting sooner. The state could also see more extremely hot days over the coming decades, which could be dangerous for public health in many urban areas, and damaging to harvests in rural regions.

What parts of the state are most at risk?

What makes a community more or less vulnerable to climate change?

A new mapping and data tool released this fall by the Environmental Defense Fund scores every county nationwide weighing more than 100 different factors like environmental, social, economic and infrastructure effects on neighborhood-level stability. The map aims to show what drives climate challenges in communities to help policymakers and residents invest in climate resilience where it is needed most.
