Reading Opens the World

As part of our Reading Opens the World grant, Local 212 member and Early Childhood Education instructor Celina Echeveste partnered with AFT 212 to select children's books to distribute to MATC students through our Little Free Library initiative and beyond. Last week, Early Childhood Education students completed the Early Language and Literacy course, and were presented with text sets to seed their own classroom or center libraries with these culturally and linguistically relevant selections.

To volunteer or donate to our project, please contact Anna Varley: ahvarley@gmail.com. We are looking for campus reps at Oak Creek, West Allis, and Walker's Square.
