Local 212 Joins Fight to Strengthen Public Employee Voice at Work

Local 212 President, Lisa Conley, and COPE Chair, Steve Shea, joined local and state politicians and labor leaders in support of Wisconsin Assembly Bill 614 at a press conference held in Milwaukee on Wednesday, November 3. The bill, championed by Rep. Marisabel Cabrera and Sen. Chris Larson, seeks to correct union-right inequities in current law and strengthen the voice of Wisconsin’s state and municipal employees at work. This is an important bill for all who Local 212 represents, as well as for our students, many of whom, like us, have been and continue to serve as essential, front-line employees during the pandemic.
