Good news, increased support for paraprofessionals! On Nov. 6 on Capitol Hill to fanfare from both the AFT and the National Education Association, and surrounded by PSRP leaders from across the nation, Sen. Ed Markey, with co-sponsors Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, introduced a sweeping resolution on workplace rights for paraprofessionals and school-related personnel. The Paraprofessionals and Education Support Staff Bill of Rights calls for fair wages, paid leave, full benefits and safe working conditions.
