Developing News For Student Loan Borrowers Working Towards PSLF

Many workers at MATC qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) and are enrolled in the program through the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority (MOHELA). The AFT and the Student Borrower Protection Center found that MOHELA, a major student loan servicer, has mismanaged a key student loan program for public service workers and engaged in a “call deflection scheme” by strategically avoiding borrowers who need help. 

What this means for the loan servicer and borrowers is unclear, but Local 212 members should be aware of the ongoing confrontation.
